Kings bow out of trade talks for Ben Simmons

Jan. 28: Sacramento had an early interest in trading for Simmons, and the Sixers guard has reportedly expressed in the past that he wouldn't mind playing for the Kings. However, it sounds as though Sacramento is bowing out of the Simmons sweepstakes, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. The Kings feel that Philly's asking price for the two-time All-Defensive guard is "too steep" and don't feel like either side can come to a trade agreement. Sacramento will move on to other potential trades, and although Philadelphia may ultimately wait until the offseason to deal Simmons, the front office feels there's still a "potential avenue" to get something done before the deadline.

Pacers are asking for two first-round picks for Caris LeVert

Jan. 28: Indiana's trade deadline plans have shifted slightly as Myles Turner's stress fracture in his foot will keep him sidelined likely past Feb. 10. As a result, the Pacers are reportedly less likely to move him before then. However, the team is still looking to move LeVert, but for a price tag of two first-round picks, per NBA reporter Marc Stein. LeVert's offensive production (18.2 points, 3.7 rebounds and 4.2 assists) could entice teams to come up to that asking price. But given he has just one year remaining on his deal for next season worth $18.7 million, some teams may not want to give up two first-round picks if they feel like they can't re-sign LeVert in the summer of 2023.
